Align Technology : My Invisalign
Consumer: iOS | Android | Smart Watch
The goal of the project was to create intuitive, user-friendly tools for Invisalign patients to track the treatment progress and be compliant with doctor’s recommendations, and to establish a communication channel between doctors and patients to ensure treatment success by letting doctors review patients treatment photos and providing in app instructions. My responsibilities: Define business goals and user needs. Prioritize product features based on impact. Plan and conduct user research and interviews with Invisalign treatment patients and providers. Create user journey, empathy maps and concept user flows. Develop wireframes and interactive prototypes. Conduct usability testings and interviews. Work closely with stakeholders, product managers and content writers. Provide interaction design, annotated technical and design specifications to web, Android and iOS development teams. Collect and analyze user’s feedback and usage data.

My Contributions
I was the only designer on the project so everything from initial patients and doctors interviews, creation and testing of the interactive prototypes to delivery of the high fidelity mockups, all assets, visual and technical specifications was done by me including native iOS, Android and Smart Watch (Apple Watch and Android Watch) and Web based portal.
Defining the Features
In partnership with the product manager a number of interviews were conducted with Invisalign patients and doctors, we identified users' pain points and created a roadmap of the prioritized application features from "must have" to "nice to add in the future".

Wireframing
After the flow was defined I proceeded with creating the wireframes to explore the experience in more detail on a screen-by-screen level.
Design System
I created a library of components for both iOS and Android native applications. First component library was created in Sketch and shared with the development team in Zeplin. I also created a library of the UI icons ready to be used for iOS and Android apps. Later I converted the design system into Adobe XD, and a year later in collaboration with other design team members we added components and patterns created for the web and desktop products and created the Figma Design system.

Timer
The main goal of My Invisalign app was to help patients to track treatment progress and stay compliant with doctor’s instructions to ensure successful treatment results.
Starting with very first interviews with Invisalign treatment patients, I learned that patients understand that in order to have successful treatment they need to keep track of aligners' wear time and change sets of aligners on time according to the schedule recommended by the doctor. So timer and time log were voted as must have features. Implementation of the timer gave patients the option to receive notifications on scheduled date and also allowed users to set up alerts during the day when patients needed to take aligners out for lunch or dinner time.

Time Log
Usage of the timer gave user-patients the option to keep and review logs of the aligner wear time on daily, weekly and monthly basis. Time log helped users to see and understand wear time patterns and adjust daily routines and schedules if needed.

Smile Gallery
To make application more personal and have fun keeping track of treatment progress, I designed a reminder to take photos at different stages of the treatment and provided an option to compare those photos and even share before and after images with friends, family or send photos directly to doctor as part of the Virtual Care program that allows doctor to review treatment progress and give patent instructions without office visit.

Smart Watch
Using Apple Watch users can set timer reminders without using a phone. Users can also set personal wear time goals and keep track of aligner wear time on daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis. This data will be synced with My Invisalign app, so the user receives all notifications including calendar events, aligner change time and reminders to take Virtual Care photos.
