I do not pretend to be a photographer, but quite often while working on design project I have to use my camera. I take photos of the products to use in manuals and catalogs or use photos I take to create technical illustrations. And of course like everybody else I enjoy taking photos while traveling. I am trying to use my photos as much as I can in my design projects.
work process:
Often when I work on drawings to illustrate work process or process of the installation, I bring my camera to the client site and take photos myself. It helps me to better understand process and saves me a lot of time on creating illustrations. I also take photos of the products to use them in catalogs or any other marketing materials. When project needs generic photo images I always try to use my own photos.
advice to clients:
There is a huge amount of inexpensive generic photos you can purchase for your project. If you spend enough time you can find practically any image you might need. To avoid copyright violation, don't use photos you just found on the web. Have respect for the work of artist (and law!) - if you need photo, buy it at Shutterstock.com.
