logo usage guidelines
If more than one person in the company will incorporate logo image in corporate or marketing documents, it's a very good idea to develop guidelines on usage of the logo. It will save time and help to keep corporate identity consistent.
work process:
For small business, especially if there are no products, logo guidelines doesn't have to be a complex document, but it has to reflect most important aspects of the logo usage. Usually I include document with colors, fonts, minimum usable logo size. It's also a good idea to specify background colors and to show how logo image should not be distorted. If logo image placed on products, product labels, clothes, then logo guidelines could be a lot more complex document. I can create logo usage guidelines of any complexity as requested.
advice to clients:
Not all designers provide guideline document, but if all you need is simple specs for logo image usage like colors, fonts and sizes - ask your designer and he/she should be able provide this info.
